Hi, Bruce here. So as I said in one of my previous blogs, I am a big fan of Star Wars. So I am going to dedicate this blog to some of my favorite Star Wars characters. I will only briefly explain the character because, in reality, there is no end to it. Let’s begin.
1. Darth Vader
Darth Vader is the most feared Sith (individuals who utilize the dark side of the force for power) in the Galaxy. Born Anakin Skywalker, he was slowly lured to the dark side of the force by Emperor Palpatine (Darth Sidious), who is a Sith Master, thinking he can save his wife, Padmé Amidala, by doing so. At the end of Episode III, Padmé dies, thus pushing Darth Vader even farther into the dark side, being lost almost entirely into it. Eventually, it takes the love from his son, Luke Skywalker, to ultimately bring him back to the light.
2. Luke Skywalker
Luke Skywalker is the son of the infamous Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker). He was born with a great deal of power in the force and initially trained by Ben Kenobi (Obi-Wan Kenobi), the same person who trained his father and kept his identity a secret from Luke. At the end of Episode VI, Luke is hailed as the hero of the Galaxy, having defeated Darth Vader and Darth Sidious. Little did they know that the dark side of the force would eventually reawaken, thus bringing forward a new villain.
(Warning! Spoilers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Proceed with Caution)
3. Kylo Ren
Kylo Ren, born Ben Solo, is the son of the famous smuggler Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa, formerly a disciple of his uncle, Luke Skywalker, Kylo Ren was drawn to the dark side by Snoke, Supreme Leader of the First Order. Kylo Ren idolizes his grandfather, Darth Vader, immensely. He feels that Darth Vader met his ultimate demise by being lured back into the light side of the force. He knew that Luke had a big part in doing so and for that reason Kylo Ren destroyed the only thing that he believed can eventually bring him back to the light, his father, Han Solo.
4. Han Solo
Han Solo is one of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars Universe. He is one of the best pilots in the galaxy and is always accompanied by his best companion, Chewbacca. He and Princess Leia Organa eventually fall in love but later on split up, not before giving birth to their son Ben Solo (Kylo Ren), named after the great Ben Kenobi (Obi-Wan Kenobi). He played a significant role in the rebels’ attempt to destroy the galactic empire and bring order to the galaxy.
5. Obi-Wan Kenobi
Obi-Wan Kenobi (later known as Ben Kenobi) was a Jedi master who trained both Luke Skywalker and his father Anakin Skywalker (who eventually became Darth Vader). After gravely wounding Darth Vader and leaving him for dead in a duel in Episode III, Kenobi went into exile, taking Vader’s newborn son, Luke, to live with his aunt and uncle. He eventually fell to Darth Vader in Episode IV.
This article only barely scratches the surface of these characters. If you are not too familiar with Star Wars, I suggest you start watching the movies and get on it. I promise you will not regret it. I will try to get in more detail on a future blog, but until then, take care!
